Mrs. Carolyn Maines Dixon died Saturday, July 16, 2011.
Carolyn was born to Mrs. Ozelle Giddens and the late Mr. Roscoe Maines on March 17, 1952 in Upson County. She was raised by the late Mr. Lee Giddens. She graduated from Drake High School and was a member of the Welcome Grove Baptist Church. She was employed by Thomaston Mills and for eleven years as a certified nursing assistant at Providence Health Care and later Riverside Nursing Home.
Carolyn enjoyed gardening and fishing in her leisure time, she enjoyed taking care of her mother and going to church. She was preceded in death by her son, Mr. Kenneth Matthew Lyons on May 22, 2011.
She is survived by, her husband, Rev. Grady Dixon of Thomaston; mother Mrs. Ozelle Giddens of Thomaston; sons, Mr. Anthony L. (Jessie Mae) Lockhart of Thomaston, and Mr. Tommy (Loretta) Lockhart, Jr. of Atlanta; step-daughter, Mrs. Landress (Rapheal) Taylor of Macon; aunts, Mrs.Lizzie Brazil of Thomaston and Mrs. Dorothy Respress of Naperville, Illinois; uncle, Mr. Timothy George (Evangelist Jean) Searcy of Thomaston; adopted daughter, Ms. Dalitha Terrell of Warner Robins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rev. Hope (Frankie) Smith of Decatur, Mrs. Manerva Williams, Rev. W.K.(Beverly) Dixon, both of Thomaston, Elder Frank (Aletha) Dixon of Stone Mountain, Ms. Paggie Dixon of Oglethorpe and Elder Freddie Dixon of Roberta.
