Mr. James Harold Wainwright

Mr. James Harold Wainwright, 81, died Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011.

Mr. Wainwright was a native of Taylor County. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a loom technician for the Martha Mills Division of the B. F. Goodrich Company until his retirement. Mr. Wainwright attended Mountain View Baptist Church.

He is survived by a step-son, Johnny (Sylvia) Hammonds of Smiths Station, Alabama; two brothers, Gerald Wainwright of Barnesville and Murrah (Sandra) Wainwright of Thomaston; three grandchildren, Sherri (Steven) Bennett of Griffin; Tommy (Donna) Barfield of Shellman Bluff, and Shane Barfield of Destin, Florida; and three great grandchildren, William Kyle Melton, Zachery James Melton and Mary Katherine Barfield, all of Thomaston.

Visitation

Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Pasley Fletcher Funeral Home

Thursday at the graveside in South View Cemetery at 2:00 pm

Mr. David Michael Carter

Mr. David Michael Carter age 58 of Williamson, died August 15, 2011.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Coggins Funeral Home at 321 Hannah's Mill Rd. Thomaston Ga. 30286.

Bowen "Bo" Alexander Story

l_QTznJdLXmIPpFuOtBowen Alexander Story (Bo), age 3, leaped into Jesus' arms on August 15, 2011 after winning his battle with cancer. His final days were spent at his home in Thomaston surrounded by family and friends that Bo had touched throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

Although he was only a little boy, Bo showed a tremendous resilience in the face of a terrible disease. Bo became known for his motto: "Be Strong, Be Bo Strong." Even though he could not say those words, he showed us through his actions how to be strong in the face of adversity and still enjoy the moments that life gives us. He possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to realize that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.

He is survived by his parents, Scott and Britney Story, paternal grandparents, Terry and
Le Anna Morgan, maternal grandparents,Cathy and Ralph Matthews, aunts, Jessica Matthews and Stephanie Matthews, uncle, David (Christen) Matthews, cousins, Jonathan and Jacob Matthews, and Madison Hummer. There will be a celebration of Bo's life held on Saturday, August 20th 2011, at 3 P.M. in Mountain View Baptist Church in Thomaston, Georgia. Dr. Rex King will officiate. A reception will follow.

Mrs. Carolyn N. Bowen

Mrs. Carolyn N. Bowen, 94, of Thomaston, died Saturday night, August 13, 2011, at Providence Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Bowen was born on February 6, 1917 in Athens, Georgia, to the late Marcellus and Mary Norton. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1939. Mrs. Bowen was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was in the service Sunday school class. She was a member of the Red Hat Club as well as the Thomaston Garden Club where she was a past president. Mrs. Bowen was a Girl Scout leader for ten years. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. William Charles Bowen.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Judy and Buck Mandeville of Virginia; sons: Dr. David George and Billie Bowen of Commerce, Mr. William Charles and Delaine Bowen Jr. of Sharpsburg; 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Coggins Funeral Home

Service

Saturday at 11:00 am at the Thomaston First United Methodist Church

Crystal Hill Cemetery

Mrs. Judy Johnson Ellerbee

Mrs. Judy Johnson Ellerbee died August 10th, 2011.

Mrs. Ellerbee was a life-long resident of Thomaston and Upson County. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Thomaston Board of Education. Mrs. Ellerbee was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. She took an active role in her church and was a member of the Antioch Pioneers Club and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband, E. Eldo Ellerbee; three sons, Emory E. (Martha Ann) Ellerbee of Fayetteville, Mitchell E. "Mitch" (Sue) Ellerbee, of Thomaston and Scott (Lori) Ellerbee of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Trip Ellerbee, Mandy (Stephen) Bridges, Marc (Cassie) Ellerbee, Kate (Erik) Housman, Ryan Ellerbee and Jonathan Ellerbee; and one great grandchild, Maci Ann Bridges.
