Mr. Joe Allen Whatley died July 21st, 2011.
Mr. Whatley was the son of John Allen Whatley and Flora Jane Mathews Whatley. He was born November 11, 1918 in Pike County. Joe served in the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. For 40 years he was employed by Thomaston Mills in the Slashing Dept.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Maxine Pitts Whatley. He is survived by Clarence and Juanita Whatley; Edward Lisa and Nathan Whatley, and Matthew and Felicia Whatley.
Service
Saturday at 11:00 am at the Graveside in South View Cemetery.
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
